چکیده
Abstract The water reservoirs are getting polluted due to increasing amounts of micropollutants such as pharmaceuticals, organic polymers and suspended solids. Powdered activated carbon (PAC) has been proved be a promising solution for the purification without having harmful impacts on environment. Parameters PAC dosing, wastewater hardness, effect coagulant flocculant were evaluated in batch scale study. These parameters further applied pilot plant performance evaluation based removal concerning contact time dosing with main focus recirculation sludge. obtained optimum dose was 10–20?mg/L providing 84.40–91.30% efficiency solid (MPs) this increased 88.90–93.00% along which raised by addition polymer process at scale. On scale, concentration reactor effectiveness dissolved air flotation, lamella separator sedimentation tank compared. Constant optimisation resulted ranging from 2.70 3.40?g/L 10?mg/L, 2.00?mg/L 0.50?mg/L. doses 15–30?min best above 70–80% elimination. system also an efficient technique because PAC's adsorption capacity practically completely used. Small dosages yielded high

Treatment of micropollutants in municipal wastewater: ozone or powdered activated carbon?
Many organic micropollutants present in wastewater, such as pharmaceuticals and pesticides, are poorly removed in conventional wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). To reduce the release of these substances into the aquatic environment, advanced wastewater treatments are necessary. In this context, two large-scale pilot advanced treatments were tested in parallel over more than one year at the m...
متن کاملRemoval of H2S and COD Using UV, Ferrate and UV/Ferrate from Municipal Wastewater
Background; The aim of this study is to compare UV, ferrate (VI) and UV/ferrate (VI) methods for removal of hydrogen sulfide and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from municipal wastewater under a continuous condition. Methods; The experiment was divided into three parts: 1) pollutants removal by using ferrate (VI) alone; 2) pollutants removal using UV alone; 3) pollutants removal using a combina...

متن کاملRemoval of Alkylphenols from Industrial and Municipal Wastewater
The results of the study of removal of nonylphenol, octylphenol and their ethoxylates from real industrial and municipal wastewater are presented. Industrial wastewater was pre-treated by coagulation with FeCl3 and adsorption on zeolite, before discharging into municipal sewer system. Their removal efficiencies in primary sedimentation tank of municipal WWTP were very low. From the practical po...
متن کاملRemoval of Organic Compounds from Municipal Wastewater by Immobilized Biomass
Two porous ceramic carriers (internal active surface 0.04 m2 for carrier I and 0.2 m2 for carrier II) with immobilized activated sludge were the stationary filling of the reactors. Municipal wastewater was treated at hydraulic retention time (HRT) from 70 to 15 min. The efficiency of organic compounds removal from wastewater changed for reactor I from 85.2 to 93.8%, for reactor II from 62.9 to ...
